Managing Director Word ( Farewell Exiting MD )

Ladies and gentlemen, Friends and supports of SCCT and Port Said.
When I was working in Egypt in the late 90is I was told that if you drink from the Nile then you are bound to return, it did not taste nice but here I am.
As I begin, I thank Philip Littlejohn for his service and great contribution to SCCT (Suez Canal Container Terminal).

It is a pleasure to have met so many of you dedicated and loyal friends of SCCT in the first few weeks. I am delighted to be back in Egypt where I last worked in the late 90is and thrilled to be in such a vibrant country and leading such a devoted group of employees.
I am honored and humbled to stand here; I stand here today because so many people have had the foresight, determination and continuous will, to see through the vision of the Port Said East Port and the SCCT Terminal. We have a place, all of us, in a long story--a story we continue, but which full potential is still not explored. It is the story of a new Port that first was a dream, it then became a vision and today it is a unique location with a truly leading container terminal able to compete with the best terminals in the world.SCCT is toady an example of the potential of the Port Said East Port it is a place that contribute to Egypt, not just through Taxes and royalties. No we must be part of the society through sharing and caring for the staff and the wider community.
I am please to state that I believe the story will become even better, that SCCT will continue its strong growth and with the will of the authorities the phase 2 of SCCT will indeed soon materialize. This expansion will lead to further contribution to the society through investment, job creation; another 1200 jobs and not least skill transfer up-grading the knowledge and capabilities of the employees. I am very pleased to state that SCCT has already become a place that other ports come to visit and receive training as we are viewed as a leading company when it comes to skill transfer.
I do still not know my full role in this story but I can guaranty you that I will do my utmost to continue the growth of SCCT leading to:
-  New and better jobs
- Further investments
- Better community care
- and a positive return to both the greater Port Said community as well as our loyal 300 Egyptian share holders.
We are not this story's author, who decides on time and purpose. Yet the purpose is achieved in our duty, and our duty is fulfilled through the service to the community, the port, SCCT and each other.
Never tiring, never yielding, never finishing, we renew that purpose today, to make the port more efficient and safe. Though great there is still room for improvement.
This work continues. This story goes on.
As the next chapter of the story starts I once again like to thank Philip for his great commitment and dedication.
- I would like to thank all of you for your support so far and I look forward to working with you in the future.
I want you, to help make the most of Port Said East Port and SCCT.

Jens Floe
